Personality~ Sirius is a fairly upfront guy. He’s very much a Gryffindor, despite his (ex-)family’s proclivities, and he’s not one to hide what he thinks and go along with the crowd. He’s also very much an alpha male and is very charismatic; people like to follow him, although he gets annoyed at it after a while (i.e. at Peter). He has a tendency to get carried away with things, especially with scheming.

He’s an extremely loyal friend with a mischievous streak a mile wide, a streak that can turn mean upon occasion; his sense of humor has a sharp edge to it at times. He possesses the ability to go from muddy, belligerent Quidditch player and trickster to debonair, haughty pureblood in the blink of an eye, with no warning whatsoever. He’s extremely bright and rarely has to make an effort to excel at his schoolwork, and as such has developed a lazy streak. When he gets into a project or a plan, though, he’ll see it through to the end no matter the trouble that might result. He’s stubborn and pig-headed to a fault, but also quite kind, especially to the younger students… and to anyone, really, who’s not a Slytherin and/or he doesn’t consider to be a moron.

History~ Sirius Black grew up in a house (he doesn’t refer to it as a home) where pureblood mania was extremely important and the Dark Arts were embraced. His father wished for a perfect son and heir, a clone of himself, and when Sirius didn’t deliver as he grew up, his father turned to verbal and occasional physical abuse. Things only grew worse when, unlike every other member of his family (or at least those who hadn’t been blasted off the family tree), Sirius was sorted not into Slytherin but into Gryffindor.

There he made fast friends with three other boys, James Potter, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew. During their years at Hogwarts they became the worst pranksters and all-around troublemakers in the school’s long and venerable history (equaled only by the future antics of the Weasley twins). After discovering that Remus was a werewolf in their third year, the other three friends became determined to find a way to keep him company during the nights of the full moon.

It should be noted that Sirius has an extremely antagonistic relationship with Severus Snape, equal to or worse than that of Snape’s with James Potter.

Overall Appearance~ Sirius is fairly sizeable for his age; he stands at nearly six feet and will almost certainly be taller, as his father still has a few inches on him. He has dark hair just recently cropped short (an unfortunate accident involving some mischief gone awry) and gray eyes.

He’s well-built, muscled but not overly so, and keeps himself in very good shape for Quidditch; Beaters tend to be on the larger side. He wears his uniform for classes, obviously, but has otherwise embraced muggle styles wholeheartedly just to grind on his parents' nerves. He can usually be found in jeans, boots and tee shirts, with his black leather motorcycle jacket if it’s cold. Most times, he’s clean-shaven as is school policy, but on the weekends and in the summers he’s typically scruffy... at least when his mother can't see him.
