This role-play is set during the Marauders' last three years at Hogwarts. The wizarding world is quite a different place than it is during Harry Potter’s lifetime. We will play to canon.

Sirius' blood was running cold; there was no way he was turning around and leaving, turning his back on those slimy bastards. Not after what they'd just said to Remus. "You know," he said to James, "they just never seem to learn." His tone would almost be conversational... if not for the cold look on his face. "Maybe it's the blond hair... or do you think it's the inbreeding?"
He sneered slightly at Rosier, twirling his wand in his left hand. "It must be something, though, don't you think? I mean, really, he must have put some effort into failing an entire year. It doesn't take that much to pass." He grinned a little. "Guess he got the face, but not the brains to go behind it."
He'd even think this was fun... if not for the reason behind it. Hell, he'll attack first, but if Rosier does then he'll be in the wrong when they're caught, especially since he'd been the one to come up and harass Remus.
And really... Sirius has no qualms about taunting Rosier. None at all. He looks malicious, suddenly. "Go ahead, curse me. One of the ones your daddy taught you, Rosie." His wand has stopped twirling by now. "Go on. Try."
I will not bow, I will not break I will fight for one last breath; I will fight until the end.

Caught somewhere between wanting to curse Rosier himself and wanting to groan from his friends' inability to walk away from a fight, Remus just ended up standing there, saying nothing throughout most of this. It almost seemed like he took being made fun of better than his friends handled his being made fun of. They did tend get a little overprotective of one another, he'd have been the first to admit. But honestly, they just hadn't grasped the concept of letting it go. Remus had been letting things go for ages.
Sometimes, it's the harder thing to do to swallow down your pride and retreat, but Remus has learned to do that, too. Nearly once a month every month until he came to Hogwarts, actually, when a neighbor learned what he was, and they had to move or likely have a barely-alive Remus be hunted down... and killed. Which happened. Remus remembered every time he's read about it in the Daily Prophet. Vividly.
So being made fun of for being sick and poor? Well, Remus figured, there were worse things that could happen. He believed that, in his mind. The rest of him, namely his emotions, are finding this much harder to deal with. Which is why his jaw was still clenched. Lashing out would be easier than letting it go, and better to channel it into anger than hurt, to let Rosier know he'd gotten to him.
Still, a fight was not high on Remus' list of things to do today. Unlike his friends, he was a Prefect. He couldn't get into fights. Not stopping them was one thing; participating was quite another. Not to mention the fact that he was there on a scholarship, another thing none of his friends understood entirely. And that's not even bringing up the part about Dumbledore letting him be here despite being a werewolf. As though that was ever far from his thoughts. Dumbledore was his hero.
So, he gave it one last shot, managing to speak despite being almost painfully tense. His wand wasn't out yet; he's giving the Slytherins an out, for the love of Merlin. "Rosier," he finally managed, clipping off his words a little, a sure sign that he was unhappy. Honestly. Sickly friend? Stating the obvious wasn't exactly a fantastic insult. "Just go."
